3. Pricing Methodology

How We Price Our Products

Our pricing is linked directly to commodity markets and transparent manufacturing costs. We believe buyers deserve to understand how prices are formed — not just what they are.

Material Cost (Commodity-Linked)

The base cost of every product starts with the raw material. We reference public commodity benchmarks from SunSirs (China's leading commodity data platform), Shanghai Futures Exchange, and international market indices. For each product, we identify:

  • The main raw material — kraft paper, LLDPE resin, cotton yarn, jute fiber, etc.
  • The closest public benchmark — a tradeable commodity price that tracks the actual input cost.
  • Material consumption per unit — calculated from GSM, dimensions, thickness, or known unit weights.

Material cost = unit weight (kg) × commodity price (USD/kg)

Converting Cost (Manufacturing)

Converting transforms raw material into the finished product. This includes:

  • Extrusion, cutting, die-cutting, slitting
  • Sewing, welding, lamination, coating
  • Printing, embroidery, branding
  • Assembly, QC inspection (AQL 2.5), packing

Converting cost varies by product complexity — from ~8% for ultra-simple plastic bags to ~58% for tailored uniform shirts.

Overhead & Margin

Covers factory overhead, energy, logistics coordination, certifications, and supplier margin. Typically 15-30% of FOB price.

Price Change Transparency

When commodity prices change, we communicate the impact clearly:

  • If LLDPE rises 10%, stretch film FOB adjusts by ~6.8% (68% material share × 10% increase)
  • If cotton yarn rises 15%, polo shirt FOB adjusts by ~6% (40% material share × 15% increase)
  • If kraft paper drops 5%, kraft bag FOB drops by ~2.5% (50% material share × 5% decrease)

This formula lets you anticipate price movements and plan procurement accordingly.

Confidence Levels

  • High — Direct commodity link, known unit weight, verified cost structure
  • Medium — Commodity proxy used, weight estimated, or multi-material blend
  • Low — Complex multi-material product, significant estimation required

Data Sources

  • SunSirs (sunsirs.com) — China domestic spot prices for petrochemicals, paper, metals, textiles
  • Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) — Kraft pulp, aluminum futures
  • Mysteel — Steel and metals pricing
  • CommodityOnline / Price-Watch — Jute and natural fiber pricing (India/Bangladesh)

All prices are indicative benchmarks. Actual factory input costs may vary by ±5-15% depending on grade, volume, and procurement terms.

4. Formula Templates

Paper Products

For kraft bags, mailers, labels, wrapping paper, tissue paper, baking paper.

unit_weight = GSM × area_m2
raw_material_cost = unit_weight_kg × paper_price_per_kg
converting_cost = raw_material_cost × (0.6 to 1.8)   // depends on complexity
FOB_price = (raw_material_cost + converting_cost) × (1.15 to 1.35)   // overhead + margin

Example — Kraft Paper Bag Medium (KPB-M):

weight = 120 gsm × ~0.54 m² = 65g
material = 0.065 kg × $0.725/kg = $0.047
converting = ~$0.030   // bag forming, handles, printing
overhead = ~$0.022
FOB = $0.099

Plastic Products

For HDPE bags, stretch film, PVC cling film, PET trays, bubble mailers.

unit_weight = area_m2 × thickness_m × density_kg_m3
raw_material_cost = unit_weight_kg × resin_price_per_kg
converting_cost = raw_material_cost × (0.1 to 0.8)   // lower for simple films, higher for co-extrusion
FOB_price = (raw_material_cost + converting_cost) × (1.08 to 1.25)

Density references: HDPE = 950 kg/m³, LLDPE = 920 kg/m³, LDPE = 920 kg/m³, PVC = 1350 kg/m³, PET = 1380 kg/m³, PP = 900 kg/m³

Example — Stretch Film Auto (SF-500-12-AUTO):

weight = 0.5m × 2815m × 12μm × 920 kg/m³ = 15.55 kg   // actual 16.15 kg with core
material = 16.15 kg × $1.175/kg = $18.98
converting = ~$5.04   // cast extrusion, slitting, winding
overhead = ~$3.98
FOB = $28.00

Fabric / Textile Products

For cotton tote bags, jute bags, non-woven PP bags, polo shirts, t-shirts, aprons, uniforms.

fabric_weight = GSM × fabric_area_m2   // or use known unit weight
raw_material_cost = fabric_weight_kg × fabric_price_per_kg
converting_cost = cutting + sewing + printing/embroidery + QC + packing
FOB_price = (raw_material_cost + converting_cost) × (1.15 to 1.35)

Fabric price references:

Example — Cotton Canvas Tote Standard (CT-STD-NAT):

weight = 180g (known)   // includes body, handles, stitching
material = 0.180 kg × $2.80/kg = $0.504
converting = ~$0.225   // cutting, sewing, handle attachment
overhead = ~$0.161
FOB = $0.89

General Formula (Any Product)

FOB_price = raw_material_cost + converting_cost + overhead_margin

Where:
raw_material_cost = weight (kg) × commodity price ($/kg)
converting_cost = FOB × converting share %
overhead_margin = FOB × margin share %

Price change impact:
new_FOB = old_FOB × (1 + commodity_change_% × material_share_%)
Disclaimer: This pricing model uses publicly available commodity benchmarks and industry-standard assumptions. Material shares and converting costs are estimated based on typical industry ratios. Actual factory costs may vary by ±5-15% depending on grade specifications, order volume, seasonal demand, and specific supplier terms. Where exact data was unavailable, reasonable industry estimates have been used and clearly labeled. This model is intended for price transparency and procurement planning — not as a binding quotation.
